As Head of Year it gives me great pleasure in outlining the key events that students will experience during this crucial academic year. Important documents and links are displayed in the menu bar to the right.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at school if you have any further questions about 今年9.
As the oldest students in the Lower School, 今年9s are now seen as role models to the younger year groups. Their behaviour should be exemplary and their achievements and attainment should inspire the younger students.
All students have been given the opportunity to visit the historic World War I battlefields of Ypres in November. 学生们 will explore the connection the school has with the conflict through ‘The Old Boys’ who fought and died at Ypres. This outstanding experience is not to be missed.
As they embark on their final year in Key Stage 3, students have to make some important decisions that will set them on the pathway to GCSE. It is vital that students work hard in all lessons to ensure they have a wealth of subjects available from which to select their ‘Beyond 14’ options at the beginning of January.
There will be PSHE days, covering topics that are both relevant to 今年9 and in line with government regulations. Firstly, they will look at sexual health issues along with body image and self-harm. Secondly, the focus will be on Study skills, with students looking at how to managed their workload during periods of revision.
The school’s curriculum enrichment programme will once again be packed with a number of opportunities. 学生们 will be offered the chance to take part in the 今年9 drama production as well as having the opportunity to audition for the whole school production. Other opportunities include the Ski Trip to Sugarloaf and a visit to Exmoor to complete a section of 地理 coursework. I encourage students to immerse themselves in this programme as it is an integral part of school life at Coopers Coborn.
