Making the transition from GCSE to A Level study is a real challenge and is one that many students struggle with. To ease this process, and to support all students, we run an extensive induction programme.
This is open to all 今年11 students whether existing Coopers’ Coborn students, or those new to the school.
All students holding a conditional offer to join the 6th Form are invited to our 6th Form 感应 which takes place in July of each year. The day contains a variety of activity, ranging from academic taster session, through to team-building initiatives.
In September, all students are invited in a day earlier than the rest of the school, in order to ‘get their bearings’ and we also have an ‘Adventure Based Learning’ integration day at a local activity centre as part of our PSHE programme in the first three weeks of term.
We find that students very quickly feel part of our 6th Form community and embrace the school ethos of ‘Love as Brethren’.

Please note there is a generic preparatory task that ALL STUDENTS are expected to complete and bring with them on the 1st day of term – it is called ‘Prep task for all students’.

A copy of the transition preparatory tasks for each subject can be found below. These should be completed by all students joining our 6th Form and should be brought in on the 1st day of the new academic year. Please note that many of these tasks have associated reading or stimulus material which was given out in the taster sessions – these doucments can be found further down this page, under the ‘prep’ tasks.
